INFECTION (1987-1989?)

Infection was an outfit from Wilmington (Delaware) that played powerful crossover hardcore “with some metal and punk influences”. The band consisted of Sean Pierce (guitar), Victor George (vocals), Steve ‘Slammo’ McCaughan (bass) & Chuck Mikity (drums) – they were 14-16 years old. The person who ‘produced’ it was Wayne Romanowski (All The Rage skate zine). In an interview the guitarist mentions ‘G.B.H.’, ‘Agnostic Front’, ‘Ramones’ & ‘D.R.I.’ as his early influences, later ‘Cro-Mags’, ‘Gang Green’, ‘Metallica’ & ‘Murphy’s Law’. Vinyl-wise they did the Our Pledge 7″ (’88) and the Legal Limit LP (’89). They had five demos out in total, a couple of tracks on the Delaware Hardcore Compilation tape and a split-tape with ‘Morbid Life’.
