JOSHUA FIT FOR BATTLE (1998-1999 / 2000-2003)

In 1998, Danny Bogart, Kevin Hardy, Larry Everett and Joe Breitenbach were on a bowling team called “The Slayers” in the Newark Shopping Center bowling alley. Deciding they might have a band on their hands, they teamed up with Justin Gilday and Geoff Matheson, who held guitars instead of bowling balls, and Joshua Fit For Battle was formed. Their first show on May 1, 1998, was booked by DMHA founder Chris Haug and Electric Human Project label baron Mike Haley at the Ashley Circle VFW in Wilmington, DE. Early the next year, John Fasano replaced Justin Gilday on guitar. With drummer Kevin relocating to Michigan, hardly a year after their first show, JFFB played their intended final show on May 15, 1999, in Newark, DE.

A breakup ended up being a roughly 8-month hiatus, as Kevin Hardy returned to Delaware, and with some personnel changes, the band picked back up where they left off. While reconfiguring, the band swapped in Josh Jakubowski for John on guitar, in time for JFFB's split with Josh's band Neil Perry. In spring of 2000, Joe and Geoff had left the band, and they briefly played a few shows as a four piece, including one with Bane and Boysetsfire in Philadelphia. This lineup played in Philadelphia with Boysetsfire and Bane.

The permanent final lineup for the second era added Bryan Louie, formerly of the Delaware band Short Round, on guitar. This lineup toured with Jerome's Dream + One AM Radio (January 2001) and Neil Perry (April 2002). JFFB's final show was in Connecticut on April 19, 2003 with Transistor Transistor.
